Definition of the individual titles

Timewindows Album (72:28)

Time window.
Travel through time to different places and situations.
Each title is a section, a look through a particular "time window" into a random situation, at a random time, in a random place.

Palus Somnii (4:15)

The marshes of dreams.
Palus = Marshes
Somnii (actually Somnia) = personification of dreams
Abstract description of an imaginary place.

Brao Argoat (5:57)

Breton: Brao = Beautiful land, Argoat = forests
The meaningful translation is: Beautiful land of forests.

This title is the second part of the so-called "Breton Landscape Trilogy", an acoustic description of the Breton sea, the Breton forests (second part) and the "path of the wind" on the Breton Sea (third part), in an abstract manner.

Hybrid Cyber Delta 4 (6:24)

Analog-digital control of human machines on Delta 4
An imaginary world on the imaginary planet Delta 4, inhabited by beings who are half human beings, half machines. Star Trek was the inspiration.

Sirius Orbit (5:54)

The double star system, constellation "Great Dog".
An imaginary journey through the imaginary orbit of Sirius.

Andikithira (4:48)

Actually "Andikythira" written. A Greek island between Kythira and Crete in the Ionian Sea. Here was found in an ancient shipwreck a look-alarming gear mechanism, the so-called mechanism of Andikythira. It is an antique device comparable to a later astronomical clock. With the help of many bicycles and dials, much more astronomical-calendars could be displayed by him, as was possible with corresponding clocks, which existed in the late Middle Ages and early modern times. By the discovery of coins in the wreck, its decline could be dated to between 70 and 60 BC.

Hent Avel (3:57)

Breton: Hent = The way, Avel = The wind
Actually: The road of the solar wind
The meaningful translation is: The way of the wind.

This title is the third part of the so-called "Breton Landscape Trilogy", an acoustic description of the Breton sea, the Breton forests (second part) and the "way of the wind" on the Breton sea (third part), in an abstract manner.

Items (3:15)

A kind of transcription of the term MPEG, which came up in the late 80s. A basic unit of the transaction in the MPEG-21 framework. MPEG-21 is a standard for the production, production, and distribution of multi-media content, defined by the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG).

Scanner Reflections I (2:51)

Scanning and Reflections Part 1.

On an inhabited, imaginary planet, the inhabitants are scanned (scanned) with special machines immediately after birth. The reflections, which emanate from the persons, represent all physical and psychological data and are stored by these machines. So you know exactly what physical and mental quality everyone has. The total control! Part 1 refers to the scanning process.

Scanner Reflections II (4:00)

Scanning and Reflections Part 2.

On an inhabited, imaginary planet, the inhabitants are scanned (scanned) with special machines immediately after birth. The reflections, which emanate from the persons, represent all physical and psychological data and are stored by these machines. So you know exactly what physical and mental quality everyone has. The total control! Part 2 refers to the reflection process.

Mare Tranquillitatis (4:09)

The sea of peace on the moon. On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong of the Apollo 11 mission entered the moon as the first human being.

Sinus Iridum (6:09)

The rainbow bay. It is a bulge of the Mare Imbrium, a deep plain on the earth side of the Moon.

Running Frames (3:33)

Flowing picture frames. Is symbolic of the constant movement in a film. There is no stagnation.

Everything is always in motion.

Hikaru Seijaku (3:21)

Japanese. The meaningful translation is: The luminous silence.
This is the quiet and peaceful atmosphere of an evening with a bright sunset, in an exotic landscape like Japan, where I have never been.

Transputer (5:09)

A transputer is a parallel computer, which is equipped with an additional communication hardware in order to efficiently enable the data exchange to neighboring computers by means of "message passing". The first transputer was introduced in 1983. The clustering abilities and the attempts to parallelize the computing processes based on the concept of the transputer were developed by the new program language Occam.

Lan (4:06)

Local Area Network. A local network. The term is now familiar to everyone and standard. In the early 1990s, this was something completely unknown and exotic. One knew only the name and was inspired by it.

This is the case with this title.

Iconscopes (6:00)

The visibility of symbols, symbols. The term "icon" comes from the computer world, Scope is here symbolic of the visibility area of a variable in programming. So: Programmed visibility of symbols, symbols.

Breton Landscape Trilogy (12:12) *

The "Breton Landscape Trilogy", consisting of the titles "Gwerz Mor", "Brao Argoat" and "Hent Avel", is an acoustic description of the Breton Lake, the Breton forests and the wind of the Breton Sea in an abstract manner, here summarized as a complete trilogy.
